THE GIFT OF THE FATHER’S LOVE

As we are entering into the Christmas A season, let us pause to reflect on the profound mystery and beauty of God’s love. To a world longing for hope, healing, and peace, God the Father gave us His most precious gift His only Son, Jesus Christ. The Book of Isaiah says: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…” (Is 9:6). This is a profound declaration of God’s redemptive plan unfolding through the birth of Jesus. It connects prophecy, purpose, and presence in a single moment. We find it is fulfilled and in the New Testament we read: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).
Just as Abraham was willing to offer Isaac in faith (Gen 22), God offered Jesus not as a test, but as a fulfilment of His promise to redeem humanity. Jesus came not in splendour, but in humility a baby wrapped in cloth, laid in a manger (Lk 2:7). Yet in that manger lay the Redeemer of the world, the Divine Physician, the Prince of Peace

Jesus: Healer of body, mind, and soul

Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus revealed the heart of the Father through acts of healing and compassion: He restored sight to the blind (Mk 10:46-52). Не cleansed lepers and welcomed the outcast (Lk 17:11-19). He forgave sinners and gave them new life (Jn 8:1-11). He raised the dead and comforted the grieving (Jn 11:1-44). In every miracle, Jesus showed that salvation and healing flow freely to those who believe. The woman who touched His cloak (Mk 5:25-34) was healed by faith. The paralytic lowered through the roof (Lk 5:17-26) received both physical healing and forgiveness. These stories remind us thatJesus is not just a historical figure-He is our living hope, our eternal cure, and our source of wholeness. It is, “By His wounds we are healed” (Is 53:5).

The Father’s Heart: a Love that waits
As we prepare our hearts for the coming of the Saviour, we are reminded that God the Father eagerly waits to shower us with His blessings. Like the father of the prodigal son (Lk 15:11-32), He watches for our return, ready to embrace us with mercy and grace. The Old Testament gives us these promises: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” (Jer 31:3). “His mercies are new every morning” (Lam 3:22-23). This Christmas, may we open our hearts to receive the gifts He longs to give: peace, joy, forgiveness, and eternal life.
A call to celebrate and receive
Christmas is more than a season it is an invitation. An invitation to: Receive Jesus not only as a child in a manger, but as the Saviour of our souls. Celebrate His birth with joy and reverence. Share His love with those around us. Prepare our hearts for His coming again.
Let us not be like the inn that had no room (Lk 2:7), but instead make space in our lives for the One who came to save us. Let us rejoice with the angels who sang: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men” (Lk 2:14).
The Divine promise of faith in Christ
Belief in Jesus Christ is not merely an act of faith it is a transformative journey that opens the door to divine intimacy and eternal purpose. When we surrender our hearts to Him and walk in obedience to His Word, we receive a sacred and powerful gift: the Holy Spirit. This Spirit is not reserved for a select few, but is freely given to all who call upon the name of Jesus, transcending boundaries of caste, culture, and religion.
It is a universal invitation to experience God’s presence, guidance, and love. The Holy Spirit dwells within us, comforting, convicting, and empowering us to live lives that reflect Christ. It is through the Spirit that we gain wisdom, strength, and the courage to stand firm in faith, even amidst trials. This gift affirms that we are never alone-God walks with us, speaks to us, and works through us.
Building God’s Kingdom on earth
When we commit ourselves to the mission of Christ serving others, spreading love, and living righteously-we become active builders of His kingdom. Our lives become testimonies of grace, mercy, and transformation, drawing others into the light of His truth. In this divine labour, we are not forgotten. God promises to lift us up, to raise us into heavenly glory alongside Jesus and His faithful disciples. Let us rejoice, for we have been chosen not by merit, but by divine love to be servants of His kingdom. Our calling is sacred. We are ambassadors of light in a world that often walks in darkness. As we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus, bringing healing, hope, and truth to those around us.
The path of discipleship is not always easy, but it is paved with hope. Jesus, through His suffering, death, and resurrection, secured for us the gift of eternal life. This is not a reward we earn, but a grace we receive a reflection of God’s boundless love and mercy. Etemal life means communion with God forever, free from pain, sorrow, and death. It is the ultimate fulfilment of our deepest longing.
May this Christmas fill your heart with the peace of Christ, the joy of salvation, and the hope of eternity. May you experience the healing touch of Jesus and the tender love of the Father. And may your home be a place where His light shines brightly.
